K.D. Lang gets VIP treatment via motorcycle escort
Canadian crooner KD Lang has drawn the ire of authorities in Australia after a police officer gave her an unauthorised motorcycle escort through Melbourne.
Lang was running late for a television appearance due to a delayed flight when the motorcycle cop gave her the VIP treatment from the airport to the television studio.
However, police later said the officer was supposed to be on patrol at the time and did not have permission to provide a motorcycle escort, which is usually reserved for visiting heads of state and other dignitaries.
Victorian Premier John Brumby described the officer’s actions as “completely inappropriate”, while the state’s top traffic officer said disciplinary action was possible. (news)
