Harbour death toll rises
The death toll from the boating accident on Sydney Harbour early yesterday morning has risen to six with a 30-year-old man dying at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital overnight.
A spokeswoman for the hospital says the 30-year-old man suffered a critical brain injury and died this evening while two other survivors remain in hospital.
The man’s death adds to the four women and a man in their late teens and early 20s who were killed in the accident.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed one of the men onboard the small repair boat that collided with a fishing trawler off Bradleys Head just before 3:00am AEST on Thursday had previously worked for the boat’s owner.
Sydney Ship Repair and Engineering has confirmed that the man, a former contractor, was onboard its boat that was taken from a private dock next to Balmain park. (news)
