Drunk driver goes wrong way to get to KFC
By standers on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast watched horrified as an allegedly drunk driver side-swiped cars, jumped a traffic island and crossed a busy road against the flow of traffic – all to reach a local fast-food outlet.
Police said the female driver was arrested in the Caloundra KFC drive-thru about 4.30pm (AEST) yesterday after the franchise’s alert manager grabbed the car keys from the ignition.
The driver allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.231 per cent.
Officers arrived after shocked witnesses rang police to report the damage.
Police praised the actions of the manager and the witnesses who called triple-0. (news)
