Mount Isla on the map
Mayor John Moloney put Mount Isa on the map. Despite winning a sexist award for his poorly chosen words while trying to promote his town at least he’s trying. ‘A’ for effort, ‘F’ for execution. Moloney was the focus of the Ernie Awards. In Mount Isla men outnumber women Moloney was trying to attract women, any women, to come to his town. Hey, if you have enough guys in a small area for a long enough time, a sausage party is bound to break out. Sometimes you gotta take one for the team and that’s what Moloney did.
Despite his notoriety, he’ll probably be the mayor of Mount Isla for a long time. Let’s hope there are some really desperate women out there that flock to the little town and give them men some sexual relief. Wonder what the sales of sex dolls are like in this town?

John McGrath under fire over lobbyist connections
Western Australian Opposition Leader Troy Buswell says he will not be pressured into sacking Liberal MP John McGrath over his dealings with lobbyist Brian Burke.
Premier Alan Carpenter says if Mr McGrath was a member of his team, he would be sacked.
The Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) has cleared Mr McGrath of misconduct for tabling a motion for a parliamentary inquiry given to him by Mr Burke but found one of his explanations strained credibility.
Police Minister John Kobelke says Mr Buswell will discipline Mr McGrath because he needs him in order to hold onto the Liberal leadership.
“The Leader of the Opposition simply can’t rise to the occassion, he doesn’t have the maturity,” Mr Kobelke said.
But Mr Buswell has rejected the claim. (news)
